PURPOSE:To exert the inherent performance (high capacity) of an insoluble and nonmelting substrate having a polyacene-based skeleton structure and to permit continuous charge and discharge by supporting lithium having a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic condensed polymer is gradually heated as high as an appropriate temperature of 400 degrees C to 800 degrees C in nonoxidizing atmosphere (including vacuum) to obtain an insoluble and nonmelting substrate having an atomic ratio (H/C), hydrogen atom/carbon atom, of 0.50-0.05, preferably, 0.35-0.10. The insoluble and nonmelting substrate has a polyacene-based skeleton structure formed by a moderately developed aromatic polycyclic structure, and forms an amorphous structure, and supports lithium to obtain an atomic ratio, lithium/carbon atom, of 0.05 or more. A binder uses a fluorine- based binder to obtain an atomic ratio, F/C, fluorine atom/carbon atom, of below 1.5 and 0.75 or more. Appropriately controlling the quantity of the lithium sufficiently utilizes the inherent capacity of the insoluble and nonmelting substrate (PAS) when a battery is fabricated by using the electrode. |
