<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of codes without degrading picture quality in the case of detecting the feature points of an image signal and performing chain encoding to the information of continuous feature points. CONSTITUTION:When feature amounts S3A with mutually similar values continuously appear, these amounts are representatively expressed by an average feature amount S32 and this average feature amount S32 is encoded. Thus, the code amount can be considerably reduced in comparison with the case of encoding all the feature amounts S3A.</p> |
