PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic device not wastefully consuming the waste toner. CONSTITUTION:A toner is stuck to the whole photoreceptor 1, and the toner stuck to the portion of the photoreceptor 1 other than the portion radiated by a laser within the stuck toner is removed by a recovery roller 2 in this electrophotographic device. The voltage opposite in polarity to the potential held by the photoreceptor 1 is applied while the potential holding portion of the photoreceptor 1 charged by a charger 8 does not reach the recovery roller 2. Since the voltages of opposite polarities are applied to the recovery roller 2 at the time of development and nondevelopment, the toner stuck to the photoreceptor 1 at the time of nondevelopment is surely recovered by the recovery roller 2.
