The polyester fiber is produced by (a) reacting terephthalic acid with ethylene glycol, (b) adding 2.0˜5.0parts of a silica sol contg. nodular silica with an average particle diameter microns of 0.1˜0.5 to the reactants to yield a bathochromic chip having a good dispersibility, and (c) blending the chip with 3˜6parts of an antistatic agent of formula (I) R1=monovalent organic gp. ; R2=C1-8 aliphatic hydrocarbon-contg. cpd.; n=1˜2 , 0.3˜0.8parts of an additional chain enlongator, i.e. 1,3-phenylene bis-2-oxazoline and 0.1˜0.3parts of a thermal stabilizer, i.e. 3.5-di-tertiary-butyl-4-hydroxy benzyl phosphoric acid diethyl ester, and then spinning the blend. The polyester fiber has a good bathochromic and antistatic property.
