The mailbox consists of a body (2) which is divided by partitions into separate components, and a main door (3) which closes over the front of the body and has separate doors (6) in it for the compartments, separated by uprights (5) and cross-pieces (4). The main door is hinged to the front of the body and fastens in place by a series of locking catches (9) engaging with the upright of the door surround (10) and operated by a single lock (12). Each of the compartment doors (6) is hinged to an upright (5) and has its own lock (13) to operate an individual hook-shaped catch.
