PURPOSE:To obtain a structure which is capable of lessening the generation of torsional stress according to a surplus length treatment of an optical fiber, is small in an occupying area for the surplus length treatment and less restricts the length of the optical fiber even if a fused part exists in mid-way by winding the optical fiber to the shape of the figure 8 on a pair of reels. CONSTITUTION:A pair of the reels Ra, Rb mounted at a base plate B have an annular shape and the optical fiber F0 for connecting a laser diode LD and a multiplexer C is wound to the shape of the figure 8 on the reels Ra, Rb. The optical fiber F0 wound to the shape of the figure 8 on a pair of such reels Ra, Rb is offset of its torsion at every pitch of diagonal crosses and, therefore, there is no need for approximately equalling the surplus lengths up to the laser diode LD and the multiplexer C around the fused part, unlike heretofore. Offsetting of the torsion and fixing of the fused part to the base plate B are simultaneously executable, insofar as the difference in the surplus length before and behind the fused part has the length of integer times the pitch. The restriction on the drawing around length of the optical fiber is, therefore, relieved. |
