PURPOSE:To display different modes on respective divided screens and to improve operability by dividing an editing document into plural areas to display it and displaying the arrangement of the whole editing document on an optional area out of the plural areas. CONSTITUTION:A display device 57 displays an editing document dividing into four areas and displays the arrangement of the whole editing document on an optional area out of the four areas. In order to control a four-divided editing screen mode, a memory control circuit 55 switches a document memory 54 consisting of a normal edition memory, a graphic edition memory, a graph edition memory, and a layout displaying memory in accordance with a mode and a display memory switching circuit 59 switches the contents of a display memory 56 consisting of memories for displaying the upper left, lower left, upper right, and lower right parts of a display screen for the four-divided editing mode. Consequently different modes can be displayed on respective screens divided by the four-divided screen editing mode and a document can be edited while referring to a graphic, graph or layout display. |
