STEREOSCOPIC PICTURE DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive stereoscopic picture display device which can be used for industry, domestic use or medical application. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a pair of 1st and 2nd display devices 12a and 12b for displaying stereoscopic pictures for right and left eyes being a display object; 1st and 2nd light controllers 19a, and 19b respectively arranged ahead of the 1st and the 2nd display devices and provided with a light transmissive area arranged at positions corresponding to the right eye and the left eye of an observer; a half mirror 15 arranged ahead of the 1st and the 2nd display devices in order to synthesize the pictures displayed on the 1st and the 2nd display devices to one picture; and a lens 18 arranged ahead of the half mirror 15 and having directivity to light from the respective light transmissive areas of the 1st and the 2nd light controllers. The picture for the right eye displayed on the 1st display device 12a is seen through the light transmissive area of the 1st controller 19a and the picture for the left eye displayed on the 2nd display device 12b is seen through the light transmissive area of the 2nd controller 19b.
