The lighter body includes a reservoir (5) for receiving liquefied combustible gas, with a filling valve (6) associated with an opening (7) in the external covering (2) of the body. A sealing closure (10) is located at the inner part of the opening, surrounding the opening and sealing a space (8) between the covering and the valve assembly. The sealing closure is formed of rubber or similar material, and is in the form of an annular body of rectangular cross-section. The seal has a self-adhesive coating on one or more of its surfaces and is secured to the valve surface coaxially with the valve member. It may additionally be adhered to the inner face of the external covering.
