Mfg. ridgeless tubular roll bellows for air springs

Ridgeless tubular roll bellows are mfd. for use in air springs by a method in which the rubberised strength backing of plastic cloth embedded in elastic material is rolled on to a coiling mandrel together with an inner rubber layer and an outer rubber layer to form the tubular body. The coil is vulcanised and then split into individual sections forming the bellow rolls. At least one end face of the section is heated to melt the ends of the fibres of the cloth inlay. The steps of cutting to length and melting the fibre ends can be done in one stage by use of a heated cutting wire.
