The rear axle (2) is pivot mounted at the middle, and against it two spaced steering wedges (5), fixed to the skate (4) act. The axle slides over the ramp faces (6) at the wedge ends, so as to slew and tilt on its pivot mounting (3). The front (8) and rear axles can be mounted on the skate underside, and the wedges can be interchangeable with others whose ramp faces are at a different angle. The front axle can have a wheel (1.1) mounted in a fork, and a rim brake can be mounted on the skate underside, acting against the wheel.
