The monolithic ceramic disc (3) which is resistant to high temperatures has fine sieve-holes and an axial passage for an ignition device eg. a glow-plug (8). The ceramic disc forms a partition between a mixer chamber (1) and a combustion chamber (2) of the vaporising burner (10). The ignition is in the form of a heater plug extending axially through the mixer chamber and combustion chamber. The liquid fuel is introduced into the mixer chamber via a feeder duct (5.1) in the back wall of the mixer chamber which forms part of a combustion air fan housing (5) containing a fan wheel (7.2) belonging to an electric combustion air fan (7).
