A plug connector including a U-shaped locking bracket mounted for swivelling from an output position into a locking position and used for locking the plug housing (1) with another plug housing by gripping into a device provided on it, is designed for an improved locking element used for locking the locking bracket in its closed or locking position, and the housing wall (4) on the upper narrow side of the plug housing (1) is designed as a complete closed wall at least in the region of the locking element (9) and the latter is formed, outside the plug housing with one end rigidly joined on this wall (4) and with a spring-loaded arm (11) spaced from the outer face of this wall, on the closed housing wall (4).
