A connector (1) for connecting conductor areas (42) of a flexible circuit (40) to contact pads (64) of a PC board edge connector in which the connector (1) pivotally supports a pair of springs (8) which pivot to a first position, upon insertion of a PC board (60) through a board opening (34) of the connector (1), in which frictional engagement between the PC board edge connector and the conductor areas (42) is minimized, and, a second position during final insertion of the PC board edge connector into the connector (1), in which the springs (8) provide a sufficient contact pressure for adequate electrical contact between the conductor areas (42) of the flexible circuit (40) and the contact pads (64) of the PC board edge connector. The pivotably arrangement of the springs (8) minimizes the wear and tear of the internal components and the contact pads (64) while ensuring adequate electrical connection between the interconnected components.
