The equipment has a gap formed between a disc (3) and an enclosing ring (2), both in a horizontal plane and which turn in relation to each other, causing the balls (10,11) in contact with them to rotate and thus travel along it (7). Balls of diameter larger than the gap width are mechanically moved along it to one discharge point, while smaller ones drop through to a second such point. Seen in the direction of rotation of the disc in relation to the ring, the discharge point (21) for the oversize balls (10) is distant from the feed point (20) for them and the undersize ones (10), which drop through the gap under gravity. There can be several pairs of discs and rings one above the other.
