CD player read head servo circuitry

A playback device recovering data recorded on circular or spiral tracks uses tracking control circuitry with fine and coarse drive mechanisms to the read head. The sampling signals are used to generate a tracking error signal for the fine control. A further control signal is generated from the amplitude of the sampling signals to control the coarse control drive.
