A stationary control disc (1) made of e.g. ceramic, within the valve casing contains a hot water inlet (2), a cold water inlet (not depicted) and a mixt. outlet (4) in its upper surface (5) over which a moving control disc (6) slides under the influence of a control element (7) with a projection (8) coupled to an external handle. A central recess (9) in the moving disc communicates with a recess (10) in the control element contg. a temp. sensor (12) in the form of a spring of shape memory alloy which closes or constricts the hot water inlet when a preset temp. is exceeded.
