Capacitive displacement measuring system used for non-contact position and vibration measurement at rotors in radial direction

The displacement measuring system involves four measuring electrodes (5) which are arranged in cross-wise and diametrical pairs for the simultaneous measurement in two radial axes of a capacitative measurement mark on a rotor shaft (4) within a sensor ring (1). Electric contact leads (7) are provided for each electrode to the sensor electronics which are housed in a space (2) outside the sensor ring. The electrodes form circular ring-segment shaped measuring segments inside the sensor ring and are arranged electrically insulated (6) from each other. The stray capacitance sensitive part of the electronic evaluation unit is accommodated in the sensor ring and thereby is electrostatically screened (3).
