Reactive monoazo dyes of formula (I) are new: R1 = 1-4C alkyl, opt. substd. by OH; R2 and R3 = H, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, 2-4C alkanoylamino, halo or sulpho; Y = alpha , beta -dihalopropionyl or alpha -haloacryloyl. Pref. the amine (4) is diazotised and coupled (at pH 2-6) to the appropriately substd. naphthol deriv., then opt. a dihalopropionyl gp. converted to haloacryloyl (partic. at 20-70 degrees C and pH 6-14).
