An actuator control system for controlling the operator of a hydraulically operated clutch (26) by the application of pressurized hydraulic fluid to a hydraulic operator (27) is provided. The actuator includes a first piston (4) for applying pressurized hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic operator and a second piston (18) coupled for axial movement with the first piston and operated by pneumatic pressurization and exhaust of a pneumatic chamber (16) provided in an actuator body (1A). The position transducer (8/9) is provided within the body for providing output signals indicative of the axial position of the combination piston within the body and thus indicative of the operating condition of the clutch. <IMAGE> <IMAGE> |
