<p>PURPOSE:To provide the position detecting device capable detecting the indicated position of a display name with a light source and a photodetector reduced as much as possible and imparting the latitude for setting the position of each display name by utilizing the device for a picture position sensor. CONSTITUTION:A pair of light emitting diodes 22A and 22B for longitudinal flood and a pair of light emitting diodes 22C and 22D for lateral flood are provided in the vicinity of a control panel 21 provide with the respective display names to be operated, and photodiode 24A-24D are added to the respective light emitting diodes 22A-22D. Then, the reflected light of a finger 25 caused by the turning-on light of the light emitting diodes 22A and 22B is received by the photodiodes 24A and 24B, a luminance ratio K1 of the finger 25 is calculated from these received signals, a luminance ratio K2 is calculated by similarly turning on the light emitting diodes 22C and 22D, and the display name indicated by the finger 25 is fixed from these luminance ratios K1 and K2.</p> |
