Regenerative adsorption filter bed for extractor hood

An odor filter for extractor hoods includes an adsorption filter bed regenerable by washing. The filter bed is made of a highly air-permeable substrate material and has an adsorbent affixed thereto in an amount of 50 to 400 g/l by an adhesive. The absorbent has a mean, particle diameter between 0.2 and 2 mm. Preferably the bed in made of open pore reticulated polyurethane foam and the absorbent material is activated charcoal. The adhesive may consist of organic cross-linkable polymers such as derivatives of acrylic acid, polyurethane, polystyrene, polyisocyanate or polyvinyl acetate optionally in two component form or alternatively the adhesive may be a hot melt type.
