HEAT INSULATION AND SHIELD STRUCTURE FOR LOW TEMPERATURE CARGO TANK

摘要

PURPOSE:To realize heat insulation and shield of an extremely low temperature spherical tank such as an LNG tank by means of heat-insulating panels having a long panel shape. CONSTITUTION:Numerous slits 6 having a U-shape cross section are formed along a lengthwise direction of a heat-insulating panel 2 made of expanded resin formed in a long panel shape wherein a heat-insulating material having sufficient stretchability at an extremely low temperature is interposed between the slits 6, and the heat-insulating panels 2 can be transformed along a curve of a tank surface of the spherical tank 1 while convection can be prevented, thereby enabling heat insulation and shield of the spherical tank by the heat- insulating panels 2 having a long panel shape. Thus only a small number of kinds of heat-insulating panels may be prepared, being advantageous in a cost. A numeral 3 refers to a moisture-proof surface material, and a numeral 5 refers to a joint tape.
