PURPOSE:To provide an ophthalmologic illumination apparatus which is capable of properly changing the brightness and shape of a light shielding part and does not generate vibrations according to a light shielding action by providing this apparatus with a light shielding means consisting of an electrical light control means which electrically changes transmittance and a control means for electrically changing the transmittance of this light shielding means. CONSTITUTION:The illumination light emitted from an illumination light source 2 is condensed by a condenser lens 3 and an irradiation field stop 4 is illuminated with this condensed light. The illumination light past this irradiation field stop 4 passes a relay lens 7 and is reflected downward by a beam splitting means 8. The anterior part of the eye 9 to be examined is illuminated with this light. The light shielding means 5 disposed in the position of the irradiation field stop 4 or near this stop has a light shielding part 6 within a range corresponding to the irradiation field stop 4. This light shielding part 6 consists of the electrical light control element capable of electrically changing the transmittance. An operation to change the transmittance of the light shielding part 6 is electrically executed via a control means. As a result, the vibrations are no more generated according to the light shielding action and the good observation of the eye to be examined is possible. |
