PURPOSE:To easily recognize the state change of a patient in an early period. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus has an electrode sensor 1 which detects an electrocardiogram signal and an optical sensor 2 which detects the pulse waves of peripheral blood vessels. The apparatus detects the point of the rising time of R waves and the point of the rising time of the peripheral blood vessels. The pulse wave transmission time from the point of the rising time of the R waves until the point of the rising time of the pulse waves is measured at a pulse wave transmission time measuring section 8. The short periodic changes in the pulse wave transmission time, i.e., the fluctuations in PTI per 1 beat are monitored by a pulse wave transmission time analyzing section 9, by which the disorder, etc., of the autonomic nerve system and a change in the vital rhythm are detected. The long-term changes of the pulse wave transmission time, i.e., the fluctuations of the PTI over several hours to several days are monitored, by which a symptom of an exacerbation in the circulatory state, such as abrupt drop of the blood pressure, is detected. |
