PURPOSE:To reduce the extent of wear in a block edge as well as to prevent any drop in gripping force attendant upon an increase in a travel distance by specifying those of negative rate, block edge constituent ratio, block piece numbers in a ground plane, the sum of block circumferential edge length and radial edge length and circumferential gradient. CONSTITUTION:In a pneumatic tire with a block pattern whose negative rate is from 40 to 48%, if possible, from 42 to 46%, (1) a block edge constituent ratio (X/Y) is from 1.2 to 1.6, if possible from 1.3 to 1.5, (2) the number of block pieces entering in a ground plane is from 13 to 21 pieces, if possible from 15 to 19 pieces, (3) the sum of block circumferential edge length and radial edge length entering in the ground plane is not less than 1400mm, and (4) among sides constituting the block, at least two sides or more are parallel or substantially parallel with the circumferential direction, and the rest sides are tilted as far as from 50 to 80 degrees to the circumferential direction. Tread width TW should be set to 168mm and pitch length to 82mm, respectively. |
