PURPOSE:To provide a polyester resin having excellent light resistance and weathering resistance by coating the surface of a polyester fiber with a resin containing a UV absorber and an antioxidant. CONSTITUTION:This resin-coated polyester fiber exhibiting high light-resistance and weathering resistance can be produced without being affected with bad influence on the characteristics features, spinnability, etc., of the fiber by incorporating a water-soluble polyurethane resin with 0.1-10wt.% of a mixture of a benzophenone-type and benzotriazole-type UV absorbers and a hindered phenol and hindered amine antioxidants at a weight ratio of 30/70 to 70/30, applying the obtained resin liquid to the surface of a polyester fiber by coating, etc., and drying the coating layer by heating to insolubilize the coating. |
