The distributor has two compartments, one (5) holding the full containers (7) and the other holding the empty containers. Each compartment has a stop (9) that moves between a low position, to hold the container, and a high release position. The compartment for the full containers has a second stop (10), preventing access to a second container. The second stop moves in the opposite direction to the first stop. A detector in the compartment for the empty containers detects the presence of a container. The stops and detector are operated when the doors (13) are opened and closed.
