Head-up display device for producing additional image of road ahead

The head-up device for improving the view of a road scene includes a camera (3) linked to a processing circuit (5) and a display (4) producing an image of the scene which has been enhanced. A lens (1) is provided to reduce the apparent size of the real observed scene (11), and a mixing plate (7) allows superposition of the enhanced image on top of the real image. A lens (6) is placed between the display (4) and the mixing plate (7), in order to focus the reconstituted image (4') so that it may be seen in the same apparent position as the real image.
