In a method for biological purification of waste water, especially industrial effluent, the water which has to be treated is introduced together with oxygenous gas through a nozzle device into a reaction tube located in a closed reactor tank (1), in which the liquid is circulated. In order to intensify the treatment and permit the treatment of large quantities of liquid, extra air or gas is supplied to the reactor tank (1) after the liquid has flowed out of the reaction tubes into the tank. The effluent thus treated is collected in an inner chamber (3) from where it runs out over a partition wall into an outer chamber (4). From this chamber (4) liquid can be recycled through the pipes (7), via a circulation pump (15) and a return line (16) back to the nozzles. The air is supplied to the reactor tank via a separate air system (14, 18). Treated effluent is passed out, preferably to a secondary ventilator via a discharge pipe (9). |
