The cordless headset (K) has a battery power supply (K1) and a transmitter/receiver unit (K2) associated with the telephone (F) such that the connection lead (a1) is fed into an adaptor box (A). The latter has a switch-over unit (A1,A2) for switching between cable connected and cordless operation. It also has a current supply (A3), a function control unit (A4) and a transmitting/receiving part (AS). The latter is matched to the transmission and reception properties of the transmitter/receiver (K2) of the headset (K).
