Protective tubing for electrical cable

Protective tubing for use with electrical cables is produced from two semi circular section extruded half shells (2, 3) that are hinged together by inserts (4). the inserts have ball shaped tips that locate in the grooves (5) formed along the length of the half shells. The other edges of the shells are shaped with mating features (8, 9). Cables are readily inserted with the shells hinged fully open. When closed the assembly is finally secured with the aid of reinforcing the shell that fits around the outer surface and covers in excess of 180 degrees.
