An upper, adjustable (10) and lower, fixed (20) sizing roller rotate on bearings in a machine frame (1). Adjusters (17), preset and maintain the clearance between the stub shafts (10', 10''; 20', 20''). The curved deflection lines of the rolls are equal to each other. Beneath the lower sizing roll (20) a backing roll (30, 31'), controlled by an internal bending beam, exerts an even, adjustable line pressure, in accordance with the line pressure between the sizing rolls (10, 20).
