Pressure wave machine with integrated combustion

The pressure wave machine has its rotor (1) fitted on both sides in bearings (4a,4b) with little radial or axial play. The bearings carry the two stator parts (3a,3b) and guide them axially. The two stator parts are connected to each other by devices (10a,10b) permitting a relative movement of the stator parts axially and sealing the hot gas space against the atmosphere. There is a hydraulic equalising device in the connection region of the stator parts. This device is connected via an aperture (11) to a control system reacting to changes of gas pressure in the machine by altering the hydraulic pressure in the equalising device.
