Method of controlling load changes of IC engine by valves

The method is such that in at least one load change channel is opened and closed by a valve moving member operating a valve relative to the valve housing. Part of the valve movement occurs in a closing area of the valve housing. The distance between the valve body and the valve housing remains the same for the relative movement between the valve housing and the closing body. During the other part of the valve movement in the opening area, the flow cross-section of the valve varies unsteadily and the control edge of the valve passes faster. During the opening and closing movements of the valve, the valve body's acceleration and connection is delayed so as to allow passing of the control edge with a higher velocity resulting in adjustable control times.
