Buoyancy body for floating hose with polyethylene foam body

Floating hoses are kept afloat by buoyancy bodies, each consisting of a multilayer foam body (3) surrounding the hose (2), with a multilayer cross ply textile covering (4) and an outer covering (5) of an elastomer, a thermoplastic elastomer or a thermoplastic. An additional single layer of transverse textile reinforcing (6) runs at an angle of 75-90 deg , pref. 85-90 deg to the axis of the body, between the textile covering and the outer covering. Textile covering and reinforcement are pref. of polyamide or p-polyester, the foam is pref., of polyethylene and the outer covering is of a weather and aging-resistant elastomer pref. ethylene-propylene-diene- mixed polymer.
