Magnetic recording medium used in hard disk mechanism

Magnetic recording medium comprises: (a) a non-magnetic base plate (11); (b) a lower layer (3) made of a non-magnetic metal laminated on the base plate; (c) a magnetic layer (4) in the form of a ferromagnetic thin film alloy layer laminated on the lower layer (3); and (d) a protective layer (6) laminated on the lower layer (3). The novelty is that the magnetic layer (4) is a composite layer. Prodn. of the recording medium is also claimed.
