The bearing arm (2) of the mirror housing (1) has a bar-shaped projection (9) at its free end (8) for insertion into a slot (10) in the spandrel (4) which is secured by three screws (7) to a side panel of the vehicle. A peg (5) is provided on the mirror support (3) for fitting into a complementary recess (6) in the arm. The housing in its operative position is secured against lifting from its bearing by a specially shaped projection (30) from the spandrel which overlaps a part of the arm and is retained by a leaf spring (33) in a recess (32).
