Step-configuration lens for lighting installation

The compact lens (1) clipped over the light fitting has a convex outer profile and a stepped inner profile. The inner profile has several sectors (6, 7, 8), each with a sloping inner face to collect light and direct it at preset angles to the main axis (3) of the lens. The plastic moulded lens is formed complete with retaining clips (12) and has the separate radial sectors combining their outputs to generator the required beam-size and direction. At least two steps over the lens diameter are provided for the profile.
