A steam humidifier has a steam connection to a housing contg. a steam blowing chamber which has in common with the housing an external wall with a steam exit. A steam distribution channel (9), fed with steam and surrounded continually on all sides by steam, is located in the housing (2) interior (3) and is connected to the steam blowing chamber (6) via service conduits (8) distributed over the length of the housing.
