The cruise control device has a speed regulator (1) receiving actual and setting speed signals and producing regulating output signal, and a fuel injection mass setting member (3), producing a setting signal within a set field depending on an input signal sent to it. The device has a damping attenuation member (2) connected on the input side to the output of the speed regulator, and on the output side to the input of the fuel injection mass setting member. This produces an output signal (k.UA) which in a lower input signal value zone (B1) is smaller than its input signal (UA).
