<p>A fault detector for such a voltage source self-commutated power converter including anode reactors (13 and 23) respectively connected in series with self-extinction power semiconductor elements (11 and 21). The fault detector comprises circuits (16 and 26) for checking that the voltages across the anode reactors (13 and 23) are above a predetermined level when electric currents flowing to the cathodes from the anodes of the elements (11 ans 21) increase; circuits (17 and 27) for detecting arm current flowing to the cathodes from the anodes of the elements (11 and 21); delay circuits (18 and 28) for delaying the output signals of the circuits (17 and 27) by fixed periods of time; and AND circuits (19 and 29) which respectively receive the outputs signals of the circuits (16 and 26), and the circuits (18 and 28). The output signals of the circuits (19 and 29) indicate the presence of a fault in the converter.</p> |
