Emergency switch-off button for working machines

The emergency shut-down switch has a housing (3) and a piston (6) which can be pushed into the housing (3) and rotate inside it. When the piston (6) is pushed into the housing (3) it acts against a return spring (14) and switches a switch off. It is then automatically locked in the off position. When the piston (6) is unlocked by hand, it is pushed by the spring out of the housing (3) and the switch is switched on again. The piston (6) can be locked by movement selectively in at least two directions. For example, the piston (6) can be locked by being moved right and left and/or by being withdrawn or rotated.
