A H.pylori (Campylobacter pylori) protein, designated HAP (haemagglutinin/protease) is described as a suitable subject for a peptide/protein vaccine or therapeutic composition to prevent against H.pylori infection. Antigenic sites of the H.pylori HAP protein, which elicit antibody responses in patients include the zinc binding region and the protease active site.
