On the edge of the lift platform (1) for the stack of cardboard blanks there are downwardly off-set steps (14) reaching into the area of the vertical stands (4) which enclose the platform. The cardboard blanks (2) project over the circumference of the platform at least in the area of the steps. Bearing pawls (5) displaceably guided on the vertical stands swivel from a neutral position outside the stack into a locking position where they project with a nose (7) into the space underneath the stack. The pawls in their neutral position can move up from the platform during the lift movement by the steps and during downward movement of the platform engage in their locking position on the stands. They are releasable when their noses lift through the new stack and swivel into their neutral position.
