The holder for the thread end of a sewing machine bobbin where bobbin and needle threads are worked holds the bobbin thread firmly after it is cut. Here there are means for cutting needle (17) and bobbin (15) threads, a control piece (41) for the bobbin thread comprising a thread guide opening (42) to take the threads and an opening extension (43) into which is driven the end section of the cut bobbin thread as it travels away from the opening. Also claimed is an implementation of the bobbin thread end holder as a lid for the feed dog track which has the above features except that of the cutting means.
