Headrest joint for vehicle seats

The backrest has a support shaft (3) which protrudes from the rest top and enters a joint housing (11) which has a pair of pins (19,21) protruding from one face (11'). Opposing this face is a cap (17) which supports a compression spring (23) that acts against a disc (5) to which is attached the rest arms. Axial pressure applied to the arms against the force of the spring disengages the disc from the pins and allows it to rotate on the shaft (7). The arm then rotates in a housing groove (15) to its new position where the pins lock it fast again.
