Heat exchanger for utilising waste heat of i.c. engine/electrical generator module

The heat exchanger has a heat exchanger chamber (2) into which the combustion gases are fed from the i.c. engine, for direct contact with a thin film of a heat transfer medium, e.g. oil, flowing across the walls of the heat exchange chamber. Pref. the exhaust gases are fed into the heat exchange chamber from above and are deflected at the base of the chamber to change the flow direction by 180 degrees, so that the gases pass in intimate contact with the thin film, which flows in the opposite direction.
