Ski moulding process, esp. for a ski made from upper and lower assemblies, consists of a first stage in which the upper assembly is made by applying the upper skin (3) to a reinforcing layer (2) in a mould and injecting a plastic, e.g. polyurethane foam (4) between them to give the upper surface its required shape. The lower assembly, comprising the ski sole (8) and an inner reinforcing element (12) with edges (9) is then made, and the two assemblies are joined together in another mould with the main core (14) injected between them. Pref. the upper skin (3) of the ski is made, e.g. from glass, carbon or aramid tissue such as Kevlar (RTM), pre-impregnated with a thermosetting or thermoplastic resin.
