A light-reflective or luminous slide fastener (10) is disclosed which is provided with a light-reflective strip (15) including a multiplicity of glass beads (19) and bonded to a row of coupling elements (13) on each of a pair of fastener tapes (12). The strip (15) extends longitudinally at least partially over the upper surfaces of the row of elements (13), or extends more extensively over the element surfaces so as to mask substantially the entire elements (13) from view when the fastener (10) is closed.
